ANTI-TRAFFICKING INITIATIVE

Combatting and Preventing Abuse + Trafficking.

Here’s how you can help us eradicate modern-day slavery in Southeast AsiA.

Safe House for Boys Project

We just opened our first-ever Selah Safe House—FOR BOYS! For nearly a decade, we have noticed and felt a great need to build a second Selah Safe House in Phnom Penh, Cambodia—for boys. Young boys are often overlooked in the area of human trafficking but there is a great need to rescue these children from this dark industry and instill a new mindset of wholeness, virtue, and leadership within these young men. Now, we are doing just that.

COST: $90 per month, per rescue

COST: $50,000 Annually (Rental, schooling, housing costs, etc.)

The Rescue Project

Every time we rescue a young girl to bring them safely into the Selah House, the cost can be anywhere between $100-$800 per rescue mission (depending on transportation needs, medical fees, school registration, and clothing expenses). This month, we’re gearing up to rescue a young mother named Wati, and her two-year-old baby, Helen, from the abuse they are experiencing in their current living situation. This rescue mission will be the second mother and daughter pair brought to our Indonesian Selah House and we can’t wait to bring them safely home to experience rest, safety, and healing.

COST: BETWEEN $100-$800 PER RESCUE MISSION

ONGOING COST: $90 per month, per rescue

Vietnam Selah Safe House Project

Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam is the next location we are preparing to build a Selah House to rescue the young girls and women being sold and trapped in human slavery. Between the years of 2011 and 2017, there were over 2,700 reported cases of human trafficking in this area, involving nearly 6,000 victims from poor families in rural areas with little access to education or economic opportunities. Vietnamese police report that selling children as brides in provinces near the border of China is on the rise. In China, where men outnumber women by 34 million, websites offer foreign brides to fill the gap. The service comes at a price, usually somewhere around the 10,000 yuan (US $1,500) mark. Other girls are given up voluntarily by families who are made to believe they will receive a dowry, often for “less than the price of a buffalo.” We are eager to build upon the Leadership Training Program, that has been in place for the past decade in this area, to bring women and children out of this kind of darkness into restoration, healing, and freedom.

COST: $10,000 (APPROXIMATE INITIAL SET-UP)

+ $3,000 PER MONTH (APPROXIMATE ONGOING COST)

Selah House General Fund

We currently have 30+ girls living in both of our Selah Houses. Giving to this fund will support the yearly cost of education, medical care, transportation, groceries, monthly outings, birthday parties, new clothing and shoes for rescued girls, and house rental, yearly salaries for caregivers, and ongoing maintenance for our facilities.

COST: $7,570 PER MONTH | $90,840 PER YEAR
